Sources of seed oils in the burgers and fries at five guys: - Fries are fried in refined peanut oil - Buns contain vegetable shortening - Soybean oil in the mayo Besides that, the grill items can be made seed oil free by going bunless or asking for a lettuce wrap - no oil is used on the griddle to cook the patties or veggies according to the restaurant I called. Flipped through the extensive menu and did not see anything without seed oils Steaks are cooked in soybean oil. Garlic mashed potatoes have soybean, canola, and cottonseed oil (throwback). Ribs have canola oil. Anything fried is fried in soybean oil. Pasta dishes have soybean and sunflower oil. You can find this info at https://www.applebees.com/en/nutrition/info

Basically all of the proteins, toppings and dressings either have sunflower oil or mayo in them, and the tortilla chips are fried in soybean oil. Interestingly the focaccia has EVOO and the rest of the bread has no oil. Sad! Chipotle uses seed oils: - Canola oil is used to make the flour tortillas and tacos - Sunflower oil to fry the chips and is in the chicken, fajita veggies, carne asada, and carnitas - Rice bran oil in the steak, sofritas, white rice, barbacoa, both beans, and vinaigrette You can see this on chipotle.com/ingredients. Stay away from fried foods, toum, and cookies. Toppings and other sauces use 100% olive oil (the greek vinaigrette hardens when refrigerated). Sautéed foods use olive pomace oil.

95% of the menu is cooked with or contains sunflower oil as an ingredient. The oil is blended with a little olive oil, so if a team member tells you they use 100% olive oil they aren’t correct.
